The USAPA has introduced new certification standards!
Attention all Pickleball paddle manufacturers
USA Approved certification rules
Have been updated!

In order to ensure consistency in the manufacturing of Pickleball equipment and fairness in competitive sports, the Equipment Evaluation Committee (EEC) of the United States Pickleball has updated the paddle testing standards and rules.
Starting from April 1, 2024, Pickleball paddles submitted for certification must comply with the new rules.

The new regulations impose a limit on the maximum roughness, set at 10% above the upper limit.
This means that for the two paddles tested, with 24 test points on 4 surfaces, the roughness values obtained must not exceed the specified limit of 10%, with the condition that the average RZ value does not exceed 30 (6 points per surface) and the RT value does not exceed 40 (6 points per surface), setting the maximum values at 33μm for RZ and 44μm for RT.

Previously, some manufacturers used the method of averaging high and low values to pass certification, which will no longer be valid.
The soundness of regulations is also a reflection of the step-by-step completeness of the competition and the increasing fairness it aims to achieve.
